PacWest “Rocks ‘N’ Rolls” in San Jose

2 October 2009 No Comment

For those of you who didn’t make the trip to San Jose yesterday, you missed out on a lot of fun and excitement. What a fantastic day for a race! Of the nearly 60 members we had running the Rock ‘N’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon, 35 people ran personal records for the distance!! We are exceptionally proud of all of our many first-time half marathoners. One first-timer, David Marroquin ran a 1:19:49, good for 7th in his age group. Another first-timer was Cack Ferrell. She finished as the 9th overall woman with a 1:26:16, good for 2nd in her age group. This was a very competitive race, but we had 6 top 10 age group finishers and 3 of the top 11 women. Wow!!

A few PWA stats:

58 member finishers (including 12 pacers)

34 personal records

6 top 10 age-group finishes

14 first-time half marathoners

8 New York City Marathon 2010 Qualifiers

2 of the top 10 overall female finishers
