PacWest Runs Strong at Nike Marathon

19 October 2009 No Comment

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our 28 members who ran in the Nike Womens Marathon and Half Marathon and kudos to those who achieved personal records on this challenging course!!

[From Coach Diane:] I hope all of our members enjoyed the experience as much as I did and I loved seeing all those PacWest shirts out on the course! Here are a few highlights: Naomi Fliflet (SF) achieved her goal of qualifying for Boston.  She ran a 3:35:59, especially impressive on this course!  Jennifer Wang (EB) finished her first marathon in 4:48 with the help of her personal pacer Julianne Chai (EB), who was running her 2nd marathon in two weeks. Karmjit Singh (SB) took more than 90 minutes off of her previous best, sprinting in with a big smile for a 5:30 finish.

Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day for a long run and Nike did a great job with race organization.  Special thanks to those who came out to support our runners.  It was great to hear “Go PacWest!” out on the course.
