<p>PacWest is excited to announce the launch of our Newton Natural Running Form Clinics. The purpose of these clinics are to teach proper running form the way our bodies were designed to do, a.k.a. &#8220;running naturally&#8221;.</p>
<p>These personal or small group (2-3) clinics will take an individual through a thorough breakdown of their current running form including a pre-clinic video capture that will identify major and minor biomechanical flaws.</p>
<p>Natural running is a full body movement. Individuals will be asked to go through a series of drills in order to emphasize forefoot/midfoot landing as well as overall body positioning.</p>
<p>The sessions are approximately 1.5 hours in duration and include side-by-side critiquing of form with a coach running alongside you. All clinics will conclude with a final video capture of form post-drills. Full high-speed capture, with slow motion video analysis will be provided directly on site.</p>
<p>Courtesy follow up email and/or conference call provided. Additional refresher clinics available upon request.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Instructor Bio:</span></p>
<p>All clinics are led by PacWest President and Co-Founder, Jay Ridgeway. A veteran USA Track &amp; Field and USA Triathlon certified coach, Jay started competitive running at the age of 11 and completed his first triathlon back in 1985. He attended the University of Oregon and remains a competitive age group runner and triathlete having completed multiple Boston and NYC Marathons as well as Ironmans.</p>
<p>He is a USA Triathlon All-American and recently represented Team USA at the 2012 ITU Long Distance World Championships in Las Vegas, NV.</p>
<p>Known as a running biomechanic specialist and natural running form guru, Jay currently is the only Newton Natural Running Form certified coach in both Northern and Central California.</p>

<p>Our triathlon program, TriPac, is focused primarily on Olympic and half Ironman distances, a.k.a. Ironman 70.3 or long course. This group-based training program is comprehensive and challenging enough to support both the serious beginner as well as experienced triathlete. New program enhancements combined with &#8216;hands-on&#8217; coached workouts ensure our athletes are given all of the proper tools and support for success.</p>

Athletes have access to multiple regional coached workouts including track, long runs and bike rides as well as lap and open water swims. Additional workouts are led by team captains or other group members. Special clinics, training camps and workshops are provided during the training season including an early season practice triathlon; swim, bike and run biomechanics analysis; endurance and race day nutrition.</p>

Athletes have the option of selecting a 16-week or 12-week program. Which to choose is dependent upon a combination of one&#8217;s current fitness level, available time commitment, and his or her&#8217;s triathlon training and race experience.</p>
<p>The 16-week program begins with a 4-week base fitness build program. During this period the athlete is performing a combination of easy to moderate workouts throughout each week slowly and safely adapting the body to a consistent workout regimen. The remaining 12 weeks are what we call the &#8220;core&#8221; program which consists of a build phase followed by the hardest period known as the peak phase. A short taper occurs before race day then followed by a recovery period.</p>
<p>For those who choose to continue their training after the initial 16-week period or someone who comes to PacWest with an existing fitness base may choose to register for just the 12-week core program. This allows the individual to be immediately challenged with build phase workouts to begin with.</p>
<p>Each registered athlete is setup with a TrainingPeaks.com account and immediately given access to a detailed training plan specifically designed for their featured event. On-line features include personal training log, nutrition tracker, reporting with graphics and electronic training device (GPS, HR monitor, Power meter, etc) uploading.</p>
