Wow! Somebody pinch us! =)

It’s truly amazing to step back and think about all of the incredible memories and special relationships that have been made and still continue today that PacWest has played a role in.

So many lives a have been positively affected through our programs and especially because of our incredible staff of coaches and instructors. We all look forward to getting up early or getting off from work, and showing up at practice to get our butts kicked but also having fun sharing that pain with our teammates.

Athletically, well it would be impossible to list the many, many, many individual and team accomplishments over the years. But let’s just say that PacWest athletes no matter what level stand head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.

On a more non-athletic note, unintentionally mind you, PacWest has helped more than a few folks find that special someone. Many have gone on to get engaged and then married. Some even have “PacWest” babies running around these days. Who would have ever thought about that? Certainly not us ten years ago! =)

On Saturday, Jaunary 28, 2012, PacWest will be hosting our anniversary party at Pedro’s Cantina, across from AT&T Park. The private party is from 6:00p to 9:00p and is welcome to all past and present PacWest members, their familes and friends. We’ll have appetizers and many great raffle prizes.

We hope you can join us on this special evening.

Happy Birthday and Go PacWest!

2012 is off to a great start and so are our run, cycle and triathlon programs. This past Saturday we had solid attendance at both our East Bay and San Francisco Regions.

The East Bay run team ran down along the Bay Trail between San Leandro and Hayward while the SF team (above) ran from the Presidio up and over the Golden Gate Bridge and back.

Our cycle and triathlon members layered up for the cool temperatures and rode their bikes up and over into Marin County. It was an absolutely gorgeous day around the entire Bay Area…Oh ya, and the Niners won too! =)

This week our Wildflower Triathlon, Marin County Half and US Half training programs officially kick off. Check out our run and triathlon programs for more details.

Now that 2011 has officially come to a close, we would like to congratulate all of our members for an amazing year of training and racing. There were so many incredible accomplishments, big and small, that have made this past year our best ever. With 2012 now upon us, PacWest will be celebrating its 10th year and we wish continued success to each and every one of our athletes, coaches, team captains, valued partners and generous sponsors.

Below is a brief recap of some of the incredible accomplishments of 2011.

Go PacWest!

BootCamp Program
In 2011, PacWest hosted 14 different Bay Area wide outdoor strength and conditioning programs ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. We had over 800 participants during our five seasons and countless number of success stories. Not to forgot many great friendships made too!

Cycle Program
PacWest was honored to be the official training program for the Inaugural Challenged Athletes Foundation’s (CAF) Back to Back Century – Northern California. Participants of all levels trained for 12-weeks in the summer in preparation for this spectacular but very challenging two day event through the Marin and Sonoma country sides. Supported by many of our coaches and elite team athletes, the entire weekend was so amazing and fun. CAF puts on a first class event like no other. We all can’t wait until August to do it all over again. Go CAF!

Run Program
We kid you not when we say that 100’s of our members raced in many of the largest Bay Area road races including the Kaiser Permanent San Francisco Half, Oakland Marathon & Half, Bay to Breakers, San Francisco Marathon & Half, The Giant Race Half, Rock ‘N’ Roll San Jose Half as well as a large number of fun shorter road races. Also increasingly popular are the many challenging trail races around the Bay Area including The North Face Challenge most recently. Our members also traveled extremely well to other major national events including the three major US marathons: Boston, Chicago and New York City. PacWest also put together some outstanding 12-person relay teams for the Hood to Coast and Ragnar Napa Valley Relays. Our all-men’s elite team finished 9th out of over 1,200 teams overall and took 4th place in the Men’s Open division earning them a coveted automatic entry into next year’s race. Not to be out done, our all-women’s elite team easily won their division and were the top overall women’s team by nearly 2 hours at the Ragnar Relay!

Triathlon Program
Saving the best for last, our triathlon club and sponsored elite race teams absolutely DOMINATED this year. No matter if it was a local team race or a major national or world championship, PacWest athletes stood head and shoulders above the competition. The numbers below speak for themselves.

–Individual Awards--

41 races

136 podium winners (59 – 1st, 33 – 2nd, 34 – 3rd, 10 – Top-5)

We are excited to announce the “crown jewel” of our 2012 training camp schedule. At the conclusion of the camp on Friday, participants will stay through the weekend to cheer on all race participants and experience the World Championships in all it glory.

During the camp, participants will swim, bike and run the famous world championship course over the five days leading up to Saturday’s race. During this time, the Big Island comes alive as the entire world descends on this normally sleepy little coastal town to watch the world’s best professional and amateur triathletes race.

All clinics will conclude with a final video capture of form post-drills. Full high-speed capture, with slow motion video analysis will be provided directly on site.

Courtesy follow up email and/or conference call provided. Additional refresher clinics available upon request.
